
ETHEL BEATRICE HOFFPAUIR Ethel Beatrice Hoffpauir passed away Sunday morning, April 30, 2006 in Houston, Texas where she has lived for the past two years. Ethel was born in Austin, Texas, on February 23, 1917 and lived most of her life in the Travis Heights area of Austin. She married Lloyd Ray Hoffpauir on June 18, 1938 and they raised three children while working, loving and caring for others. Ethel worked many years as a school cafeteria manager and Lloyd worked as an electrician at Bergstrom Air Force Base until he retired in 1977. Lloyd preceded her in death on November 10, 2000 after 62 years of marriage. Ethel was a member of Kinney Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her three children, Carol Sue Creasey and husband Mike, Gary Ray Hoffpauir and wife Sandra and David Lynn Hoffpauir and wife Connie. Grandchildren include Michelle and Brad James, Kelley and Mike Dworaczyk, Kim and David Conway, Holly and Drew Blank and Matt Hood. Great grandchildren are Nicholas and Spencer James and Samantha Dworaczyk, who was her new great-granddaughter. Ethel was a solid Christian who was small in size but large in heart. Everyone who met her loved her and commented on how warm and welcoming she was. Her first priority was for others. She loved the outdoors and was always ready to go camping and fishing. She was a huge Astros fan and also enjoyed cooking large meals for others. One of her favorite things was listening to David and Connie play their music. Ethel loved listening to and singing hymns. She and Lloyd were involved parents who attended all their childrens activities. Carol was a Rebelette and both Gary and David loved to play ball. Ethel was one of those blessed people who was a wonderful example of Gods love for others and everyone who knew her loved her. Her family will miss her deeply but are thankful for the many life lessons she taught just by loving the Lord and being herself. Pallbearers will be David Conway, Brad James, Mike Dworaczyk. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, May 1, 2006 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 2nd at the funeral home.
