

Fannie Mae Chambless Cole, age 94, departed this life peacefully June 27, 2006 in Austin, TX. She was born June 24, 1912 in Oakland Community near Canton, TX. She grew up in the Enterprise Community North of Wills Point, TX, Vanzandt County. Fannie Mae moved to Austin in 1958. She worked in the Kinsolving Dormitory at U.T. until retirement. After that she worked several years in the Tri Delta Sorority house in Austin. Fannie Mae was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer McManus and Loyd Cole; son, Robert McManus; and three brothers, Olin, J.T. and Birty Chambless. Fannie Mae is survived by her sister, Leota Heir and husband, John of Austin; nieces, Linda Holle and husband Gerald of Austin, Patricia Karkoska and husband Harold of Taylor; great-nephew, Jonathan Holle of Austin; and great-nieces, Alisha Holle-Cofer of Austin and Candice Karkoska of Taylor. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar in Austin. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas conducted by Rev. Donald Myers of the First Baptist Church.
