Faye Jewel Watson, age 69, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1954, in Austin, Texas, to Maude Esther Taylor and Willie Chester Taylor. She was the sixth born, of eight siblings.
Faye graduated from public school in Manor, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age at Gildon Creek First Baptist Church in Manor, TX. She united in holy matrimony to Kenneth Watson; they remained married for more than 20 years. In this union, three daughters were born (Lysa, Alifia, and Soleece/Peaches).
For the majority of her life, Faye was a homemaker. Aside from caring for family and friends, she served her community well, especially in her volunteerism at CCYA. She was known for her vibrant personality, warm smile, lively spirit and southern cooking. Faye enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to “some good ole music.”
Faye was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and most recently The University of Houston Cougars Men’s Basketball!
Faye was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Esther Taylor, and her father, Willie Taylor.

7 Siblings: Barbara Washington, Gladdis Collins, Willie Ruth Biscoe, Andrew Taylor, Esther Ellis, Chester Taylor, Floyd Taylor
9 Grandchildren: Autumn, Kamarah, Jaylen, Chapree, Brooke, Kayla, Jamal, Jhyla & Keaunna; 1 GREAT-Grandchild: Kaiden West, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Your hugs, smiles, meals, and flowers have been extremely encouraging and comforting. We will forever be grateful for you all, and cherish the acts of love and condolences during this hard time!
A visitation for Faye will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A burial service will occur Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 3300 East 12th Street, Austin, TX 78721.
