Fernando Ortegon Sr.

Fernando was born on December 19, 1948. He was born in Austin, Texas to Raul and Lillie Ortegon. He was survived by his brother, Robert T. Ortegon (Esther) and his only sister, Sylvia Lopez (Bennie). He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rudy and Arthur Ortegon.

He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Gloria M. Ortegon, for 53 years. He will be missed dearly by his children, Fernando Ortegon Jr. (Patricia) and Arcelia Darby (Paul); his grandchildren Rhiannon, Jonah, Romy, Lafayette and Jessica, Lauren, Elle, Paul III, Penelopea, Pharra, and Paulindria.

Shortly after graduating high school In 1968, He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was also an experienced electrician from a young age who went on to be a building inspector for the City of Austin for 27 years.

Fernando was a humble, loving and caring human being. His faith sustained him throughout his life, as he has taken his final resting place with Christ.
