Frances graduated from New Braunfels High School, then earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Later she earned two master’s degrees, including one from Texas State University in San Marcos. Before retiring, she did seasonal work for the IRS in Austin. Prior to that, she served for many years as dietician/kitchen supervisor for the Child Development Center at Texas State. She had previously held a variety of positions in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Frances was an avid and lifelong practitioner of healthy eating and vigorous exercise and an advocate of simple, natural living. This lifestyle, bolstered by her journey with Inner Light Ministries and her participation in Csárdás Hungarian Dancers of Austin, as well as other dance and exercise groups, strengthened her in her valiant fight against the cancer that finally took her life.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eleanor Danis, and by her brothers-in-law, Jud Mather and Thomas L. Cox. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Francine Danis and Helen E. Cox; by her boyfriend and long-term life partner, Kostya Samsonov; by her former husbands, Thomas J. Weaver and Mike Revesz; and by one aunt, many cousins, and numerous friends.
Her friends and family will hold a private virtual memorial service.
