Frances Nadine von Quintus

Frances Nadine von Quintus (née Allen), age 87, of Austin, Texas, died on Thursday, April 20th, 2023. She was born in High Island, Texas on August 5,1935 to Lennie Franklin Allen and Daisy Allen (née Ling). The family later moved to Vidor, Tx, where Frances spent her youth and attended school. She graduated from Vidor High School in 1953 and then moved to Austin.

Frances worked as a secretary for several local firms and attended Durham’s Business College in the evening. She worked eight years at the Texas Education Agency followed by 18 years at St. Edward’s University as the Administrative Secretary to the President. Her last position was at Nieman Hanks Puryear Insurance Company. She retired in 1994.

She married Kurt H. von Quintus Sr. in 1954 and they remained together until his death in 2016.

She and Kurt were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was choral director and organist at the church for many years.

Frances enjoyed playing music on the piano/organ, traveling, and being with her family.

Frances is survived by her sons Kurt H. von Quintus Jr. and wife Julie Anne Leidig and Lennie Edward von Quintus and wife Chely von Quintus, and grandchildren Ariel Lauren von Quintus, Karla Michele von Quintus, Lennie Ryan von Quintus, and Brad von Quintus. As well as her brothers Jerry, Bobby and Donald Allen.

Funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home at 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749. Visitation begins at 11:00am to 1:00pm; funeral service starts at 1:00pm followed by the graveside service at 2:00pm.
