

Francis) Jerome (Jerry ) McArdle passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 100. Jerry was born on June 4, 1925, in Swissvale, PA. He was the 4th son in a family of 6 children. He quit high school his senior year to join the war effort and served as a carpenter’s assistant aboard the USS Quincy. After discharge he completed his education and married a grade school friend, Rita, and raised 4 children. He had a busy career and managed a beverage manufacturing plant in Pittsburgh, PA. After Rita’s passing, Jerry relocated to Cedar Park, TX to be near his children. He loved family, dogs, detailing cars and yard work. He was a lifelong member of the catholic churches where he resided.
Jerry is survived by his children: Charlotte ( husband David), Jim (wife Sue), Bob (wife Beth), Tim (his devoted caretaker); 4 grandsons, 4 great grandchildren; and sister Helen Kirschner. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, (Rita Anne O’Connor McArdle); his parents (Michael Bernard and Emma Rose Welch); and his 4 brothers, Regis, Raymond, Jack and William.
A mass will be celebrated on January 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park Texas. Burial will be on January 20. 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cedar Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. They made Jerry’s last years so comfortable.
Jerry will be missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace!
