

Our beloved mother Frances Alvarado, a resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro "Pete" Alvarado, Sr.; father Gerardo Calderon, mother Maria Calderon, and Sisters Braulia Castilleja and Senorina Benavides. Our mom Frances was a very caring and loving person who was loved by many family and friends. She loved her children dearly, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her eyes would always light up when they were around her. She is survived by her sister, Julia Calderon of Lockhart, Texas, sons Eusebio "Joe" Alvarado, Pedro "Pete" Alvarado, Jr., Hiladgo "Harry" Alvarado, Sr. (and Betsy), David Alvarado (Cindy), daughters Dominga Dominguez, Janie Aranda (Daniel) and Josie Moraida (Vincent), numerous grandchildren, and beloved nephew, Martin Benavides. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Pete Alvarado, III, Martin Dominguez, Hiladgo (Harry, Jr.), Daniel Aranda, Jr., Vincent Moraida, III, and nephew Martin Benavides. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons David Anthony Alvarado and Johnny Alvarado. The family wishes to express gratitude to both the staff at West Oaks Rehab and Healthcare Center for the wonderful and loving care provided to our mother during her stay there and Angel Heart Hospice for being there for mom during her final days with us. Special thanks goes out to Lina whose close friendship helped our mother through good and difficult times. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, with Mass and Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5th, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 103 Robert Martinez Jr St, Austin, Texas 78702 with Rev. Fr. Albert Ruiz officiating. Internment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Mom, we Love you and will miss you dearly. You will always be with us in our hearts, memories, and souls. Thank you for being the special mom that you were for all of us. You gave us your all and we will always be indebted to you for the sacrifices that you made for us. We will never forget you.
