Frank Wiget was a remarkable man, a man with old fashion values of honor, trust, truthfulness and of the highest moral character.
Franks devotion to his family was unconditional. His childhood sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Pat, was his soul mate and best friend. He is also survived by his son, Franklin Wayne Wiget of Austin. These two enjoyed many hours of common interest including fantasy football and NASCAR. His daughter, Jennifer Kay Wiget of Kyle was his cherished princess as was his granddaughter, Vivian. He enjoyed spoiling his girls.
Frank was preceded in death by both his parents, and a 17 year old son, Michael Neil Wiget.
Although, Frank was an only child, he was welcomed into Pat's family not as a brother in law, but as a brother. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He had a strong desire and ambition to build the best life possible for his family. Frank's work ethic was legendary. He was an intelligent man, self taught and had a thirst for knowledge.
Frank also coached little league football for years. Teaching, guiding and encouraging his team to play fair, work hard, do your best and to be a good sport in victory or defeat. Twenty years after coaching, having an adult man approach him with "Hi, Coach" and a short chat would put a smile on his face for days. We learned though the years, it's these small moments that make life worth living.
With great strength and grace he accepted that his short battle with cancer could not be overcome. It is with an outpouring of tears, smiles and thankfulness for God's grace that he did not suffer. We image him now, holding our son's Michael's hand seeing all of heaven's glory.
The Wiget family would like to express our gratitude to the St. David's night nurses, Molly and Andy. Special thanks to the staff of Texas Oncology and Dr. Kampe for his forthrightness, expertise and compassionate care.
From your son;
My father was one of the last great men, when I think about words to describe his character they would be; loyal, honest, giving and hardworking. I appreciate everything he has done for my family and showing me how to be a better person. My father's life was taken way to soon but his legacy will remain here forever. I was proud to call him dad and I thank him from the bottom of my heart; he's in a special place now where only great men go.
Rest in Peace
F.W.W
To My Dear Dad from your Daughter and Granddaughter;
You were the man in my life, my constant, my firm foundation, so dearly Loved. Thank you for being such a wonderful man. We were so blessed to have you. I miss you so much already. I love you Dad with all my heart and soul. Vivian said, "She wishes she had wings so she could fly to Heaven to see you".
