Freddy Zamora

Freddy was a native Austinite who worked as a Roofer. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s he was Texas Welterweight Boxing Champion.

Freddy was a man full of life, a hard worker and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a “People person” who never met a stranger and could make friends with someone in just a few moments.

Freddy is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ernest and Ray Zamora.

Freddy is survived by children, Amelia Frances Arcaraz and husband Robert, Barbara Zamora, Yolanda “Jr.” Zamora, Freddy Zamora and wife Elizabeth, Carlos Zamora and wife Claudia, Erica Zamora and Julie Anne Hammond; siblings, Boudie Perez, Yolanda Walker, David Zamora and wife Jean, Albert Zamora, Gilbert Zamora and wife Mary and Rudy Zamora; seventeen grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
