Whether answering to the name of Bubby, Grampy, Bumpy or any other of his well earned nicknames Garland was quick to respond with a sincere, "Hey Sunshine." His passion for hunting fishing, ranching and being in the outdoors was only equaled by his love of firing up the BBQ pit or fish fryer and feeding his wealth of friends and family. Garland was a true character and had a profound influence on those around him. He was the essence of west Texas and was, for many, the definition a real cowboy and true friend.
