

Gary Adrian, 65, departed this world on February 8, 2015. He was born to the late Leroy and Louise Adrian on February 13, 1949; and has resided in Roscoe, Cooper, Hale Center, Abilene, Lubbock, and Austin, Texas.
Gary graduated Lubbock Christian College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry then attended the School of Pharmacy at the University of Texas in Austin. He was employed by the Texas House of Representatives, served on the Governor's Energy Advisory Council, and worked on The Texas Energy Conservation Plan at PLANERGY in the late 70s. He was employed by the City of Austin Housing and Community Services Department for thirty years. He prepared grants for funding affordable housing in the City of Austin.
His peers have called him a Power-house and a Legend. His family and friends knew him as one of the kindest, most caring, loyal persons they've ever known. Everyone knew him as a man who didn't know the meaning of "giving up".
Gary is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Carolyn; a sister, Kay Stence and husband, Don, of Kingsland; a brother, Steve Adrian of Austin; two nephews, Mike Stence and wife, Nancy, of Austin; and Mitch Stence and wife, Kim, of Kingsland. Great nephews and nieces are Zachary and Tyler Stence of Austin and Payton, Riley, and Cassie Stence of Kingsland. Survivors also include cousins, Kimberly Hayes and husband, Dale, of Sugarland; Ross Hayes and wife, Heather; and London Hayes of Sugarland; a step-sister, Patti Warren Teuton and husband, Larry, of LaGrange; and three step-nephews, Tyson Teuton, of LaGrange, Collin Teuton and wife Marsha and children, Mackenzie and Colton, of Richmond, and Garet Teuton of Hutto.
Services are set for Sunday, February 22, 2015, 2:00pm at Weed-Corley-Fish, 3125 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78705.
