Gary Wayne Darity

Gary Wayne Darity, 68, of Austin, Texas, left us to be with the Lord on Saturday May 13, 2023. He had a special relationship with the Lord and was baptized by his grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Darity; sons Gary Darity Jr. wife Kim; Steven Darity wife Lori; granddaughter Madison and step-granddaughter Kaleigh; brother Elton Darity wife Debbie; sister Terry Darity and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Lillie Darity; brothers Larry & Tommy Darity and sister Olivia Darity.

Gary was a loving and devoted husband of 49 years, an excellent father and grandfather. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and chose a career as a Plumber where he worked at W.O. Harper Plumbing and Bob Blackwell Plumbing for most of his life. After retiring from plumbing, he started a second career at St. Edward's University in the Grounds Department where he worked for 14 years. He was a hardworking man that worked many long nights and weekends to give his family a fun and exciting life. He was well liked and loved by family, friends and neighbors. He exemplified gentleness, compassion, integrity, faith, kindness and a protector. He was always willing to help others and give whatever he had to help. He enjoyed family vacations, going to the beach, Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys, drag racing and most of all he loved watching and playing Golf.
