He graduated from McCallum High School and served in the National Guard. He loved playing golf and chess.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. DeLeon, Sr. and mother, Mabel On Hofmann; stepfather, William F. Hofmann; and son, Shane Lee DeLeon.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; brother, John H. DeLeon, Jr.; sisters, Mei Ling Clendennen, Alene DeLeon, Judy Knoten and Donna DeLeon-Eschels; his brothers-in-law, Robert Atwood, Kent Atwood; and by his sister-in-law, Penny Atwood.
