Gayle grew up in Abilene, Texas, where she developed a strong work ethic and lasting friendships. She went on to attend North Texas University, earning her degree and laying the foundation for a career in healthcare. After graduation, she moved to Houston, where she worked as a Medical Technologist, a role that reflected both her scientific aptitude and her desire to serve others.
It was in Galveston that Gayle met her husband, Fred. Together they later moved to Austin, Texas, where they settled and built a life centered on family. Gayle was a devoted mother to their three children—Leslie, Eric, and Kendall—and took great pride in nurturing a close, supportive home.
Beyond her professional and family life, Gayle pursued her interests with enthusiasm and grace. She loved playing tennis and was a longtime, dedicated bridge player who valued both the challenge of the game and the camaraderie it fostered. She was a devoted friend, known for her loyalty, warmth, and quiet generosity. An excellent cook, Gayle expressed her care for others through shared meals and hospitality, creating lasting memories around her table.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Fred; her beloved brother Jeff Browne; her three children; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of kindness, commitment, and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Settlement Home for Children, an organization that reflects Gayle’s compassion and concern for the well-being of others.
