

Genevieve Marie Anne Scdoris Roberts, passed away on March 17, 2008. She was beautiful, intelligent and steadfast. She was devoted to God, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She loved being with her family and friends and any occasion could be turned into a celebration be it holidays, birthdays, football games or just a beautiful Sunday afternoon. She was born October 23, 1920 in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, the fifth of six children born to Edgar Charles and Lillian Davis Scdoris. She was an honor graduate of Lincoln High School and attended the University of Nebraska on scholarship. She married John Daniel Roberts, March 28, 1944 in Durham, North Carolina just prior to his leaving for Europe and his service in WWII. After the War, Genny and John moved to Austin. She was a long time member of St. Austin's Catholic Church. She was active in St. Austin's Catholic School where she was President of the then Mother's Club and helped establish the school library. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Genny worked for almost 30 years for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers as the Administrative Assistant to the BLE Legislative Representative. She was a member of the Tuesday Nighters', a long time Austin social club where she had many true and special friends. After her retirement she did volunteer work at Seton Hospital and Casis Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband John Daniel Roberts, January 19, 2002, her parents, siblings and by her beloved daughter Christine Roberts Forbis in 1997. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Barbara Roberts Kettler, her family, husband David, grandson David Jr. and his wife Melissa and their son, Jackson, grandsons Kevin Kettler, Christopher Kettler and his wife Lara of Los Angeles; grandson Matthew Forbis and his wife Mandy and their sons Brandon and Tyler, grandsons Patrick and Andrew Forbis, their father Steve Forbis and his wife Christye; daughter Andrea Roberts McGee, her family, husband George Sears McGee, grandsons George of New York City, Johnny and Willy and granddaughter Emily; daughter Dinny Roberts Peterson her family, husband Hal Peterson, granddaughters, Danielle and Audrey. The family thanks the staff at Regency Village for their care and love for Genny the last few years. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or The Seton Fund. Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20th in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
