George Robert Ellis

George Robert Ellis George Robert Ellis, 78, of Austin, Texas, died June 24, 2003. Born in Claremore, Oklahoma in 1924 to James Robert Ellis and Theodosia Virginia Ellis. He attended the University of Tulsa before entering the Air Force in 1945, serving in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and worked for Texaco and Continental Oil Company before joining the J.G. Catlett Co. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was married in 1956 to Elisabeth M. Ellis of Tulsa. In 1980 the family moved to Oklahoma City and in 2000 to Austin, Texas. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa and later the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth, children; Virginia Catherine Ellis, Midland, Texas, and George Robert Ellis, Jr., Webster, Texas, and granddaughter Shawna Serenity Ellis, Austin, Texas. Internment and Memorial service will be held June 30, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa.
