Georgia Marie (Sundbeck) Gustafson, 92, of Austin, TX went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023. Born on George Washington’s Birthday, February 22, 1931 to Swedish immigrants, she was the 10th of 11 siblings, lovingly referred to as “The baby sister.” Georgia was raised on the Sundbeck Dairy Farm milking cows and riding horses bare back. Her entire life was built upon her faith, her family and her Swedish heritage. Georgia married Harvey Delmore Gustafson in a double ceremony with her sister Charlotte August 12, 1949. Together they had 4 children, their pride and joy! The JC Penny Company moved them across the United States from Texas to South Carolina to New Orleans Louisiana. The family ultimately settled in her hometown of Austin, TX. She was a business owner, opening Kross Kountry Kasuals in the 70’s transitioning to Formally Yours a bridal store until her retirement in the 90’s. Georgia will be remembered by her relentless tenacity to persevere despite life’s hardships, her non-judgmental kindness and love towards others, a warm shoulder to cry on. The world’s best grandmother and great grandmother. She was a true matriarch, the rock and foundation for the family. We celebrate her heavenly homecoming, fully healed and in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Tina Sundbeck, her siblings Lilian Swenson, Wenfield Sundbeck, Marvin Sundbeck, Leonard Sundbeck, Leroy Sundbeck, Margaret Lind, Laverne Hart, Charlotte Hawkinson, husband Harvey Delmore Gustafson and her infant child Terry Dale Gustafson and daughter Georgeann Pettus.
