

Gerald Boyd, 68, of Austin, Texas died peacefully at his home on March 23, 2004. He was born to James and Stella Boyd on December 31, 1935 in Lee County, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Yvette Boyd; his daughter, Foutina Boyd Walker and husband Jeff; son, John Boyd and wife Racheal; and daughter Suzanne Blackburn and husband Chris. He is also survived by the lights of his life, grandsons, Alexander, Zachary and Matthew. Other survivors include his brothers, James, Robert and Charles Boyd and sister, Hilda Brodie as well as many nieces and nephews. Gerald met his wife in Lebanon and brought her to Austin where they were married on February 14, 1965. He made a career down on 6th Street at AA Auto Parts for over two decades. He lived in the city but his heart was always in the country. Gerald was a lifelong member of St. Elias Church. We want to thank all those who prayed for him and extend a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Carlson, who was a God send for Dads healthcare. We love you dearly, Daddy. The Trisagion for the departed will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25th in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2004 at St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church, 408 East 11th Street in Austin followed by burial at Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville.
