He is survived by his wife, Judy Brooks and five children.
He was a man of few words who took on the responsibility of raising three step-children along with his two children from a previous marriage. He was born and raised in Salem, Missouri where he still has family. He had many interests, but mostly enjoyed hunting, fishing, board games, trivia, and golf.
He was a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving tours in the continental U.S. and abroad, before retiring as a Master Sergeant in South Carolina in the late 1980’s. After the Air Force he took several jobs before settling in the Austin area.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
