Gerald John Fisher

Jerry was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1935 to Simeon Paul and Ellen Hunter Fisher. He left his hometown to join the Air Force where he proudly served for over 20 years. Upon retiring from the Air Force in Austin, he continued to work and eventually retired from Faulkner Construction after many years of service. Jerry enjoyed watching many different sports and was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Simeon Paul and Ellen; two brothers, Sonny and Richard Fisher; his wife Laura; and his daughter, Pamela.

Jerry is survived by his two sisters, Becky and Donna; brother, Doug (Judy); son, John Fisher of Austin, Texas; daughter, Donna (Charles) Stone of Beeville, Texas; son, Doug (Tammy) Fisher of Kyle, Texas; daughter, Tamera of Austin, Texas; son, James (Melissa) Fisher of Kyle, Texas; and six grandsons and one granddaughter.

We take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and has been reunited with his wife and daughter.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 2620 South Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas on January 29, 2013 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

A committal service with military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on January 30, 2013 at 11:30 am.
