Gerald (Jerry) D. Sorgee went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2026 in Austin, Texas. Jerry was born November 20, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Revis Eugene Sorgee and Billye Fannon Sorgee.
After graduating from Alvarado High School, Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps; stateside and in Vietnam. After completing his duty, he returned home to live in Austin, Texas and married his highschool sweetheart, Margaret Reinhardt.
Jerry worked in the grocery business for over 40 years: first in the family business, Reinhardt's Grocery Inc., then with Randall's and Sprouts.
Jerry was a loving husband, uncle, and friend. He followed the Dallas Cowboys from their start and was a true Longhorn.
He will be missed by Margaret (wife of 54 years), brother-in-law Roger Reinhardt (wife Donna), niece Misty Marie Slaight (husband Jim), nephews Roger Christopher Reinhardt (wife Julie) and Jason Paul Reinhardt (wife Holly), great nephews and nieces, Hunter Reinhardt, Cody Reinhardt, Savannah Reinhardt, Shelby Reinhardt, and Caitlyn Foy, and numerous cousins.
Private burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado, Texas.
