Gertrude Davis

Gertrude Alma Davis, age 90 of Austin Texas passed away on September 25, 2014 in the loving care of her Grandson Adam Lee Lehmann and his wife Amanda in Kingsland Texas, along beside her surrounded by love were Adam, Amanda and her eldest Granddaughter Melinda (Mindy) Coley. Gertrude (Trudy) was born the sixth child of loving parents Pauline Zschech and Ernest Herzog, in Fedor Texas on July 22, 1924.

In 1943 Trudy married Herbert Lee Lehmann and together they become the parents of her 3 beloved sons, Bobby Herbert Lehmann, Jimmie Edwin Lehmann, and Delbert Lee Lehmann Sr. Her children were her heart.

On June 15, 1968 Trudy married her best friend and soul mate Edward (Roy) Davis, a man who exemplified the meaning of truly cherishing her and showering her with love and support. They lived blissfully in love until his death in July on 2002, together they showed us all the meaning of a true biblical marriage.

She worked many years for the Elementary school preparing the meals with love that nourished the children. She took great pride in seeing them as they returned their trays with full tummies and smiles on their faces.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church too many years to count, and enjoyed the fellowship and friendships that grew over the years. She loved playing 42 with friends.

Trudy was preceded in death by her Mother Pauline and Father Ernest Herzog, her siblings, her beloved sons Bobby Herbert Lehmann and Jimmie Edwin Lehmann. Survivors include her son Delbert Lee Lehmann Sr. and his wife Barb. Grandson Adam Lee Lehmann, his wife Amanda and their three children, Britny, Janis, and Adam (Lee) Jr. Granddaughter Melinda (Mindy) Coley and her two sons Joshua Elston his family Kortney, Bella along with her first Great Great grandchild Zelayna Elston (2 months old), and Chase Beebe. Grandson Roy Edwin Lehmann, and his wife Courtney and children Alivia, Ashley and Riley, Grandson Delbert Lee Lehmann Jr, and his wife Katherine and children Tristan, Brandon, Danielle and John Robert.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 28th, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 29th,2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
