Gisele Marie Warlick passed away peacefully on October 28, 2021, in Austin, Texas at the age of 100. She was born on March 12, 1921, in Saida, Algeria, a French colony at the time, to Elie and Anna Sabbah. In those 100 years she lived a life full of adventures, challenges, some hard times and many new experiences.

She completed her education and was a teacher of elementary age children in Algeria. During WWII she joined the French Army, working in communications and was stationed in Marrakesh, Morocco. Soon after, they were transferred to the US where Gisele started her life as a military wife, learning English and becoming a naturalized United States citizen. She managed the logistics of the many moves of a military family. She taught French to other military wives and learned to play Bridge, becoming an avid player. Sometime after Jay’s retirement from the Air Force, she started a career, that she loved, selling fine jewelry for Scarborough.

She was an amazing cook and loved to create gourmet meals for guests. She was a skilled seamstress, sewing everything from clothing for herself and her daughters to all the drapes for her new home. She loved to knit, crochet, do artistic crafts and decorate her home. In recent years, she loved spending time with her great granddaughters reading to them or brushing their hair.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Betty Learned and Monette Toungate and husband Tom; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Powers and wife Christelle, Josh Powers and wife Melissa, Ryan Ritchie and wife Judith; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, as well as a large French family that includes nieces and nephews. And made it to see her 100th birthday!! Gosh I was proud of her!! I tried to make Everyday with her special. And I would tell her how blessed she was to see 100!!!!!
