Gladys grew up in Pflugerville and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pflugerville. She graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1953. She worked and retired from the Department of Public Safety.
Gladys was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Austin since 1965. She was a member of the Lydia Circle, Friendship Club and the Quilt and Sewing group. She also helped with the Herald mail out and played many games of Bingo. She also volunteered at the Senior Activity Center in Austin. Gladys loved to travel, play games and be with family and friends.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wayne Hill; parents, August Henry and Hilda Priem; sister, Helen Low; brother, Marvin Priem.
Gladys is survived by her son, Gerald Patterson; son, James “Red” Patterson and wife, Jody; grandchildren, Rebecca Hale and husband, David; Levi Patterson and wife, Josie; sister, Marie Smith and husband, Charles.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752, US, on September 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752, US, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Cook Walden – Memorial Hill, 13700 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on September 29, 2026, from 12:15 pm to 12:30 pm.
