Mrs. Grace Campbell, age 97, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006. She was executive secretary of The Diagnostic Clinic at UTMB Galveston, Texas, starting work in 1939. Her charitable works included nursing scholarships through Altrusa, United Daughters of the Confederacy, charity patients sent to UTMB by county judges from across the state. Her Galveston home provided boarding for numerous Medical students in the 50s and 60s. She was well traveled and maintained friendships with many people overseas. She is survived by her son, Robert Ware Campbell of Austin. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Austin Memorial Park.
