Austin, TX. At the age of 10, Virginia moved from Chanute, KS to Houston, TX, where she lived until 1987. She began her 32-year career with the Buick Division of General Motors as a clerical temp and rose to the position of Assistant Car Distributor from which she retired in 1991. Following retirement, she and her husband Clyde moved to Georgetown, TX. She was an avid quilter and seamstress and had a lifelong passion for reading. She loved to travel and almost reached her goal of visiting every state capital in the U.S.
Virginia is predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Clyde Guild, her sister Geraldine Spence, brother Billy Moody, and grandson Stephen Weitzel. Survivors include her son David Weitzel, daughter Elaine Schellenger, daughter-in-law Catalina Weitzel, grandchildren Kenneth Weitzel, Angela McIntosh, Samantha (Kitty) Weitzel, and Stephanie Weitzel, as well as four great-grandchildren.
She requested cremation and no funeral service, and her ashes will be spread near Fort Davis, TX. Favored charity: Shriners Hospitals for Children.
