
Greta Alice McKeithan Greta Alice Truluck McKeithan passed away Monday at the age of 101. She was born in Florence County, South Carolina on February 22, 1902. She received her BA from Coker College and prior to marriage taught in the public schools. In 1927, she married Daniel Morley McKeithan. Dr McKeithan, now deceased, was a Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Texas. Mrs. McKeithan was also predeceased by her son James Daniel McKeithan, a highly respected young lawyer and champion of human causes in the Rio Grande Valley. Mrs. McKeithan was a member and past president of the University of Texas Faculty Wives Association and the Wives of the English Department. She was a long-term member of the First Baptist Church and a member and past president of Alathean Sunday School Class. Mrs. McKeithan, whose life spanned more than a century, was a treasured wife and a devoted mother. She had an abiding faith in her religion, a keen interest in politics, and a love of books, bridge, travel and friends and a fierce sense of independence. She is survived by her nephews Truluck and William Kelly of South Carolina and North Carolina respectively and a granddaughter, Marilynne McKeithan. She is also survived by her friends Zorena Bolton, Zorenas son and daughter, James Mckeithan Bolton (who was named for the McKeithans son) and Elisa Bolton. The family gratefully acknowledges their loving care and friendship. For several years Mrs. McKeithan was the recipient of the care and loving attention of the staff of Westminster Manor Healthcare for which we the family express our warmest appreciation.
