

Gretchen Pelham Oertli Morgan, 88, of Austin passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004. Gretchen was born February 25, 1916 in Austin, Texas to Henry L. Oertli and Martha E. Doering Oertli. Gretchen graduated from Austin High School and was a life member of St. Martins Lutheran Church. She married Lowell L. Morgan on April 3, 1942. She was a member of the Dessau Extension Club for more than 50 years and a member and past president of the Rebekah Lodge for 50 years. Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband Lowell L. Morgan and her parents. Survivors include her grandson, Chad Pigott of Austin; daughter, Judith Henderson and husband Robert of Austin; sister, Martha Grohmann of Round Rock; brother, Charles H. Oertli and wife Earline of Austin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2nd at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2005 at St. Martins Lutheran Church with Rev. James E. Bennett and Rev. J. Glen Sandquist officiating. Burial will follow in Austin Memorial Park. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Chad Pigott, Bradley Thomas, David Thomas, Charles Oertli, Jr., Eric Streit, and Robert Henderson. Memorials may be made to St. Martins Lutheran Church.
