Gwen McCracken

Gwen McCracken was born November 10, 1933 in Colorado City, Texas to Irene and Jack Carpenter. Mom went on her trip to Glory March 12, 2013 and is with her loving and giving husband Retired Colonel James McCracken and her beloved son James E. McCracken.

Gwen was loved by many - her family and friends will always remember her kindness and unique sense of humor and her skill at Texas Hold 'Em and Spite & Malice.

Gwen is survived by her children, Sofia Bishop and Susan Skinner; son-in-law, Rick Skinner; grandchildren, Katrina Bishop McPherson and her husband Eli, Jeremiah Skinner and his wife Sandra; brother L W Carpenter III and his wife Lynn; sister-in-law Mary Jo Beasley; three nieces and two nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, Texas 78750. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home with burial at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas following the service.
