Hallie Ellis

January 22, 1997July 9, 2021

Hallie Love Shelmire Ellis passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the age of 24, after a long and courageous fight against mental illness. Hallie was born in Dallas, TX on January 22, 1997. She is little sister to Alexander Wynne Ellis and big sister to Lila Elaine Ellis. Her parents are Fred Ellis and Anne Wynne. Her birth mother is Amanda Alford. She loved to be introduced as "Hallie Love," her grandmother's maiden name.

Hallie came into this world with major dimples and a smile that lit up the room. She loved volleyball, chocolate, and animals. She was brilliant and beautiful but didn't know it. She was hilarious and did know that, thankfully. Hallie had a soft spot for anyone struggling with life because of her own battles. She helped many people cope with mental illness until her own pain became too much to bear. Hallie had a fierce heart for those she loved and we will always be grateful for the precious time we had with her.

A memorial service and reception for Hallie will be held Friday, July 16th, at 1pm at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder in Hallie's honor.

Anne and Fred, mere words cannot express the deep sorrow that we all feel for your loss; the mind blanks, turns inward, seeking something that is inexpressible. I will not try. Words are a thin cloak to drape over my sorrow. So, must I hold on to the certain knowledge that your strength, your grace and, finally, your wisdom, will bring you through.

Much affection,
