

Harry Cecil Hodson Jr., died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in Austin, Texas at the age of 85. He was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on June 7, 1925, the first of two children of Harry Sr. and Margaret Isabelle Hodson. He married Dorothy Jane Tesh on December 22, 1946. They were married 63 years.
Harry decided to save money at age 5 and counseled his parents as a boy on thriftiness, as well as many others throughout his life. He was a true outdoorsman and versatile athlete; particularly a gifted quarterback. World War II took him to battle and around the world many times in the Coast Guard.
He worked for the IRS for 30 years. Harry served God all his life, including as a Bishop. As a Godly man, he loved and helped his family and others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, parents and sister.
He is survived by his children Barry, George, Suzanne, and Lori; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, with twins on the way.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2010 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5201 Convict Hill Road. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
