

Hazel Marie Holcomb, age 90, of Austin, passed away Monday January 3, 2011. She was born on April 15, 1920 to Delmar and Gladys Ray in Fairfield, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Hazel was a charter member of Westover Hills Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and playing games, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Hazel is preceded in death by her loving husband Roy, and her parents, her brother, and her granddaughter. Hazel is survived by her daughter Barbara Cobb and her husband Larry, and her son James Roy Holcomb III, and his wife Lacy; grandchildren Anissa Cure and husband Doug, Adam Cobb, James Roy Holcomb IV and wife Erin, Haley Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Joel and Merritt Cure. She is also survived by her sisters, Idell Statham and husband James and Gladys Horn; nephews Mike Statham and James Lampley; nieces Billie Lindsey, Deana Shiplett, and Joyce Pavelka. The family extends their gratitude to a special Angel, Viola, who loved and cared for her in the last months and Hospice Austin for love and special support of her needs. The family will receive friends from six o’clock to eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin Texas. Services will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Interment to follow at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
