Like all of my section-mates, I was very saddened and shocked to hear of Heath’s sudden passing.  Heath was a giver in the truest sense of the word. Always smiling, positive, kind, authentic and sincerely interested in the well-being of his friends and classmates.  His magnetic personality endeared him instantly to those he met.  His wit and sense of humor were legendary with himself as the frequent target.  Heath’s strong values and moral compass were embodied in his innate kindness, humility, humanity and generosity of spirit towards others, a legacy to be proud of by any measure. Heath’s family can take some solace in knowing that Heath was loved by many who are grieving his passing with you. In ways both large and small, he has enriched the lives of many individuals lucky enough to consider him a friend.  He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.  My condolences to Megan, the boys, and Heath’s entire family during this very difficult time.

Heath was a great friend and always helpful. Funny and always with a big smile.  My deepest condolences for Megan and his family.  I will pray for Heath.

Heath was such a special person - caring, smart, funny, self-deprecating, curious. I didn't get to spend much time with him since business school. But even if we had not seen each other from the reunion 5 years earlier, he still was someone you could talk to like you've been with him all along. My heart goes out to Megan who he loved so much, and his children.

In Spanish you say  that someone is “risueño” when that person is “capable, by some capacity, of instilling joy or happiness”. That is how I remember Heath, always a smile in his face, always a smile in his eyes. 

And unbelievably kind soul and full of optimism and bright light.  May his memory shine on in all of us and especially through his beloved family.

Heath was one of the good ones, one of the best.  He was smart and funny and could find the holes in any argument, but he was kind too, and I never saw him used his considerable powers in a cruel or nasty way.  He was so proud of Megan (specifically, he couldn't believe his luck) and I'm sure he was an amazing  Dad.  
I am so very sad to hear of Heath's sudden passing, and send his family my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers. 

Heath was one of those rare people that was smart, kind, and who had a wonderful sense of humor that he wasn’t afraid to show. His humor was made all the better by the knowledge that underneath he had a very strong moral code that guided him in all things. Heath’s greatest achievement was not his myriad business successes but was his marriage and children to whom he was devoted.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Megan and his children as they bear this terrible loss.

I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with Heath.  While it was not nearly as much time as I would have liked, Heath was ALWAYS extraordinarily thoughtful, kind, wise, and funny, and I hung on his evey word.  These are characteristics that I aspire to, and Health was the best at leading by example.  

When asked about leaders who influenced me - I typically respond that there are maybe 3 executives that encouraged me to believe that leaders can be powerful, effective, impactful and successful all while being humane, fair and equitable. Heath was one among a small handful of great leaders.

While painful to type, I would like to share with Heath's family and friends one perspective of many. Heath was a unique individual who positively impacted the lives of many. His intellect was beyond question. But as someone who has had the opportunity to rub shoulders with a few intellectual giants, Heath brought far more than IQ to the table. He was one of those rare souls who combined a humbleness with a wonderful sense of humor. And if the triad of intellect, humor and humility were not enough, Heath truly cared about the people he worked with, and in the health care space, the patients those people cared for. I had the privilege of meeting Heath for breakfast in late January before his symptoms emerged. I asked him what was next for him? He told me that time was his most valuable asset, and the time spent with his family was the most precious thing for him. There is a lesson there that Heath would want all of us to cherish. Many thanks Heath for making a difference in this world. Few of us will have the influence on others that you have had.

Heath was a beloved member of our Providence family and an original Providence Health Plan Board Member. More importantly Heath was joy, sharing his brilliance, curiosity and humor with us.  We will miss him so very much. Our sincere condolences and prayers for his family.

Heath is one of a kind - smart, calm, put his family first, and a great client and friend.  We all are lucky to have been part of his plan to make this world and his friends and family better.  Calm and strategic.  I will miss our calls and his energy in finding the next "it."  To his wife and family, you must know that we all heard about his love for you, the travels to Hawaii and Spain - and my prayers and thoughts are with you. We have lost a dear soul, a kind man, loving husband, son and father. We will forever cherish our friendship with Heath and we will miss him dearly.
