

Helen A. Westberg, age 78, of Austin, Texas, was born on February 1, 1930, in Floresville, Texas, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 31, 2009. After 36 years of faithful service to the Texas Highway Department, Helen retired to enjoy her beautiful home and garden on Cary Drive where she lived for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her only son, David Westberg; her husband, Bobby Westberg; and her loving mother, Bess Brown. Helen is survived by her longtime companion, A. J. Krueger; Cheryl and Patrick Lyle; "Dachshund Boys", Rocky and Major Applewhite; Helen's family members: Gloria Lazzari, Twisp, Washington; Clyde Johnson, Stockdale, Texas; Carol Johnson, Floresville, Texas; Betty Jean, California; Leon and Joyce Gordon, Floresville, Texas; Mildred Southerland, San Antonio, Texas; "Bunny" Lotspeich, Cuero, Texas; H. A. Bernard, McQueeney, Texas; and Jo Beth Nichols, San Antonio, Texas; plus a host of friends who loved her dearly. Helen's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to her Caregivers and the staff of Hospice Austin. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 2:00 pm, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 8134 Mesa Drive, Austin, Texas, with the Reverend Kevin Schubert officiating.
