His wife of 60 years, Christine (Guerrero) Aparicio preceded him in death on August 15, 2013.
He is survived by 4 children: Laura Fitzpatrick (Steve); Edward Buratti (Carolyn); Elizabeth Johnson; Virginia Lisnow (Harmon); 4 brothers and one sister – Raymond Guerra (Mary), Abraham Guerra (Lupe), Margarito Guerra (Susie), Johnny Guerra, (Melissa) and Frances Martinez (Richard); 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many close friends. He was born to Jose Aparicio and Maria Garcia on December 2, 1925, in Austin, TX.
Henry served in the U.S. military with the Department of the Army in active combat duty on the front lines during WWII. After his service with the Army, he married Christine and worked many years with the cement industry before retiring and then worked for the Texas State Comptroller's Office before his final retirement.
Over the years, he enjoyed many hobbies, e.g., fishing, playing the harmonica, singing, bowling, repairing small engines and gardening. He was a kind gentle person and most of all he enjoyed doing for others. He loved his family and there wasn't a person who met him who didn't instantly know what a kind soul he was.
The family wishes to acknowledge his devoted caregiver of almost three years, Jonathan McLennan, for treating our father with kindness, compassion and dignity.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, 12/11/16, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Ave, Austin TX from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and the service will be on Monday, 12/12/16, at 10:00am with burial following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks, Pflugerville TX .
