Herbert Edmund Albert Muller

February 27, 1936 - September 16, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Muller, a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born in Berlin, Germany on February 27, 1936 and passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara; his sister, Irene (John); children Arden (Kristen) and Bruce (Rikki); stepsons Kent (Pilar) and Keith (Heather); his beloved grandchildren Kristen, Nick, Austin (Alyssa), Eric, Ross, Severin, Cameron, Seth, Molly, Charlotte, Mason, Collin, Caitlin and Cara; great-grandchildren Logan and Amelia.

Herbert is predeceased by his first wife, Maria Endle, son Marvin, and daughter-in-law, Dianne.

Herbert immigrated to Canada in 1957. He settled in Toronto, Canada in 1959 where his mother and sister, Irene moved to join him. From there he moved to Niles, Michigan to start his family and a new job. Herbert worked hard all of his life to support his growing family at various sales jobs with companies including Olympus, Leitz, and Kawneer, the company that he retired from.

Herbert was a very proud and private man. He enjoyed fishing and talked fondly about the time he had with Barbara at their lake house. His battle with cancer was long. He chose not to be a victim and fought hard alongside his family and his medical support team.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of the caregivers from Kindful Health and Maravilla Senior Living Center who supported Herbert throughout his long medical battle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. Herbert will be forever remembered with deep love and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
