Hilary was born October 1, 1971, to Barbara and Geoffrey Ferguson of Austin, Texas. She attended Barton Hills Elementary School, Bannockburn, Hyde Park Baptist School and Stephen F. Austin High School. After attending Austin Community College, she went to work in the field of childcare services, where her quick smile made her popular among children and staff. Using her skills with children, she transitioned into working at a pediatrician’s office, then stayed in the healthcare field because she enjoyed helping others. She most recently worked at a cardiologist office and Scott and White Hospital. Among her coworkers and friends, she was known for her bright smile, sense of humor and playful attitude.
Since her father's death last November, Hilary had taken time to realize her dream of visiting New York City, where she went shopping and sight-seeing with her good friend Adrianna Estrada-Hill. Hilary also enjoyed decorating her home and using the latest gadgets, including a new iPad.
Hilary will be remembered for her devotion to her cats, Grayson and Abby, who she enjoyed spoiling as her children. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, good food, shoes, shopping and watching UT football. She was outgoing, spontaneous, had a wonderful sense of fun and was big-hearted with those around her. She brightened many people’s lives with her warmth and laughter.
Hilary is survived by her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Carl Daywood, her sisters Vanessa Ferguson and Jennifer Ferguson Early, her brother-in-law Jason Early, her grandfather Howard Tomerlin, as well as many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Geoffrey Ferguson, and her grandparents, Tonie and Russell Ferguson, and Marie Tomerlin.
Hilary's family would like to extend special thanks to Brett Hardie and his family for their love and support; they were always there for Hilary. They would also like to extend thanks to Adrianna for her assistance and friendship.
