Upon graduation from Travis High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Homer is survived by daughters Jerri DeLeon, Tammy Lewis (Chuck) and son Dennis Walker Judy), along with his sister Nancy Walker, 7 granddaughters and 15 great grandchildren.
Homer was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Walker, his parents Pearl and Simms Walker, two brothers and one sister, son in law James De Leon and granddaughter Holly Salisbury.
Homers passion has always been hot rods and building cars. After working a various shops, he opened Centex Buggy, where he and Lucy worked side by side until he retired. He never turned down a chance to go to a swap meet.
In later years his favorite things were Pepsi's, popcorn, chocolate and watching car races on TV He also enjoyed his crazy hat collection.

A Committal Service will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749, US, on March 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
