Hortense A. Hernandez

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Hernandez and grandson, Braedon Anthony Guzman.

Hortense is survived by her husband, Jesus T. Hernandez; daughters, Elaine and husband James Fowler; Tina and husband Paul Guzman; Nora and husband Erik Alvarado; sons, Jesse Hernandez Jr. and Esther Romero, Ernest and wife Lynn Hernandez; Rudy T. and wife Cordy Hernandez; fourteen grandchildren, Candice Peel, James Mathew and Lauren Fowler; Ella and Emma Alvarado. Bryant, Bailie, Joshua, Gunner and Jordan Hernandez, Ryan and Alexi Guzman, Annbrianna and Gabriella Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Harlow Peel and Summer Fowler; sisters, Mary and Connie Alvarez, Cordy Hernandez; brothers, Ernest, Carlos and Alfredo Alvarez. Our family will cherish her memories eternally.

Honoring Hortense and serving as pallbearers will be Paul Guzman, Zerek Peel, Jason Hernandez, James Matthew Fowler, Danny Jr. Hernandez and Bryant Hernandez.

The family of Hortense would like to thank all the support received during this time from family and friends. Also would like to thank Hospice of Austin/Christopher House for the support the family received during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Tom Frank officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
