Howard Lyle Hendrickson Howard Lyle Hendrickson passed away surrounded by his family January 25, 2004. He was born in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania June 4, 1925. His beloved mother, Lenora B. Hendrickson, his father, William Dawson Hendrickson and 7 siblings preceded him in death. Howard is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years Billie; his 10 children Debi Hendrickson Wickler, Howard Hendrickson, Edward Hendrickson, Joseph Hendrickson, Sally Hendrickson Schubnell, Anne Hornsby Kuhlmann, Rosemary Hendrickson Ryan, Holly Hornsby Hunsucker, Sabrina Hendrickson Phelps & John Hornsby; his 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Howard retired from Military service in 1972 after 28 years of service in the US Navy and Air Force. Howard retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He served as Director of the Engineering Institute at the University of Texas at Austin for 12 years before retiring to a life of extensive world traveling and working in his greenhouse while listening to his favorite musician, Bunny Berigan. His educational accomplishments include advanced degrees from the following: Coffyville College (Kansas 1951), University of Maryland European Division (1968), Southwest Texas State University (1975 & 1976). Howard was also a member of the American Society for Engineering Education (1978). The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the intensive care unit of Seton Hospital for their kindness and care of our husband and father. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
