Howard Staton Jenkins, Jr. J.D.,aka "Bubba", was born on October 14, 1959 in Austin, TX, and passed away suddenly on March, 19, 2019, at his home. All those who knew Howard, knew he bled orange - he loved his Longhorns! He was blessed to share this life with the love of his life, Denise Dinsmore Jenkins, he met when she was just 19 years old, and he a young man in his 20's. They were blessed with 37 years together on this earth.
Howard loved to learn and after graduating from Reagan High School, and The University of Texas , he attended South Texas College of Law and achieved a Juris Doctor. Howard worked for 23 years as a Criminal Defense attorney in Travis, Bastrop, Williamson, and Hays counties. Before that, he had a successful painting company. In between work and family time, you would find Bubba hunting and fishing with his buddies.
Always a craftsman and tinkerer, spending much of his free time in his beloved garage/man cave, and he laid claim to being able to fix anything within "2 seconds". He was an avid reader, sharing that love with his dad and siblings. He always bragged about his mom's cooking, saying "that's the best thing I ever ate, Mom!"
Howard was preceded in death very recently by his father, Howard Staton, Sr.and is survived by his wife, Denise Jenkins, and his mother, Polly Jenkins, as well as mother-in-law, Sylvia Fox Dinsmore. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Bishop and husband Jeff, Cathy Scott and husband Richard, Becky Wyatt and husband Bobby. Howard was a kind man with a very generous heart. He fought hard against injustice both professionally and personally. Howard could tell a story or a joke that kept us laughing to tears. His memory will live on fondly in our hearts.
