Irene Ojeda Saldaña

Irene Saldaña and Pedro Saldaña were married on July 30, 1946.

Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a strong and loving person. She had a strong faith and love for God. After losing her husband in 2020 she made it her priority to guide her family the best she could. Her kindness, love and laughter will be missed by everyone. She will remain in our hearts forever.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro. Saldaña and her son Guadalupe O. Saldaña, who is survived by his wife Guadalupe P. Saldaña. Irene is survived by her son Luis Saldaña and his wife Esperanza; daughter Valeria Villarreal and her husband Homer; daughter Stella Saldaña; son Ysidoro O. Saldaña and his wife Anna; son Rafael Saldaña and his wife Janie; and daughter Patricia Esquivel and her husband Steve.

Irene leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Irene will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A rosary will occur Monday, February 10, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 9500 Neenah Ave, Austin, TX 78717. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
