Isaac Guerrero of Austin, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He will be remembered as a prayer warrior, a man of faith, and integrity. He was a caring and loving husband, father, uncle, and friend.
He was the youngest of 10 children. He liked to reminisce about the summer months of his childhood spent with his family, gathering cotton and various fruits and vegetables throughout West and South Texas. It was in those fields in 1954 that he met the love of his life, Josephine Ojeda, at age 15. They were friends for 10 years before they even started dating. They were married on December 26, 1964. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage.
He worked and retired after 30 years with the City of Austin’s Street and Bridge Division. After retiring from the City of Austin in 1988, he took a new job as a custodian at the University of Texas at Austin. He spent 15 years cleaning offices and areas in the UT tower and had the honor of folding the flag that flew in front of it each evening. He took pride in keeping the Tower floors buffed and gleaming for visitors, students, and staff alike. In his last few years, Isaac kept busy with storytelling, model cars, art, and coloring. He shared his masterpieces with those he cared about.
Isaac was born in Creedmoor, TX, on July 8, 1939, to Tomas and Victoria Guerrero. He is survived by his two daughters, Betty Guerrero and Debbie Guerrero.
