Isabel C. Ruiz

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Manual and Clara Coy; her husband of 49 years, Victor Ruiz Sr.; brothers, Manual Coy, Jr. and Lupe Coy; and her great grandson, Carlos Alexander Martinez.

She is survived by her children; Victor Ruiz, Jr. (Amanda), Arthur Ruiz (Leigh), Paul C. Ruiz and Silvia C. Molina; brother, Jose Coy (Mary); sisters, Candelaria Bocanegra (Jose), Margaret Ramos (Alfonso); 10 grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Morales, Robert Morales, Jr. (Anne) Victor Morales, Stephen Ruiz, Silvia Molina (Richard), Mark Ruiz (Amanda), Charlie Molina, Rachael Meek (Kevin), Isabel Ruiz and Julian Ruiz; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Isabel loved her church and her faith was unfaltering. She was a Guadalupana for most of her life and spent hours volunteering to help those in need. She was a Eucharistic minister and Liturgist at her parish, St. Pius X for over 30 years. She spent a lot of her time cooking and baking for events, friends and especially her family. Everyone in the community wanted her to make her homemade Pound Cake and her Texas Pecan Pie with her never fail pie crust for celebrations of every kind. She loved living in the country, she loved the fact that in West Texas there was no humidity and there were four seasons that could be depended upon to show up on time.

She was a great mom to her four children; she was a great grandmother; loved all of her nieces and nephews showing everyone love all the time.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at West Oaks Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the care and love they showed our mother. We also wish to thank the staff of New Century Hospice who compassionately cared for our mother during her last days on this earth.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary led by Deacon Jesse Casarez at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road with Father Pat Coakley, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Mrs. Ruiz as pallbearers are Robert Morales, Victor Morales, Charlie Molina, George Bocanegra, Tony Coy and Orlando Ramos.
