Iva Dean Jackson, age 91, passed away at her home on beautiful Lake Buchanan on Feb. 15, 2016. She was born May 3, 1924 in Peacock, Texas to Arthur and Nancy Eades. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was an only child who grew up in a devoted and loving family, firmly rooted in the Christian faith, which guided her throughout her life. She dearly loved her family and her greatest accomplishment was her children. Throughout her life she worked at various jobs from beautician to medical claims secretary for Blue Cross-Blue Shield in Dallas and, after moving to San Angelo, at a medical clinic as an insurance secretary.
She retired in San Angelo and later moved to Austin to be near her daughter. For the last year and a half she has lived on Lake Buchanan, next to her daughter. She spent her last days drinking coffee looking out at the beautiful lake.
She is predeceased by her husband, Garland Rudolph Jackson, of 57 years and her son, Nick Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, RuDean Edwards, and husband, Tony and Michael Jackson of Houston, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was in the care of Seton Hospice and loved each of the aides and nurses and others who cared for her. Her rock was the hospice minister, Tim Denton, who cared for her spirit and soul during very difficult times.
She was one-of-a-kind and will be missed on this earth.
