Jacob "Jake" Michael Bruno, 45, of Sanger, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2025. He was born on June 8, 1980, in San Luis Obispo, California, raised in Atascadero, California, and later made Texas his home.
For the past seven years, he was the devoted partner and best friend to Shannon Wiley. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, quiet moments and an unwavering bond. To Shannon, he was her comfort, her laughter, and her safe place.
Jake lived a life defined by kindness, loyalty, and a heart that never hesitated to give. He had a smile that could light up a room and a way of making everyone around him feel seen and valued. He was one of the most selfless souls - the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to someone in need.
Though Jake had no children, his pride and joy was his beloved dog, Journey, who rarely left his side. Their bond was pure love, and Journey remains a living reminder of his gentle spirit.
Family meant everything to Jake. Jennifer and Michael were not just his siblings, but his greatest support system - his steady strength, loyal friends, and two of the people he loved and trusted most in this world.
He is also survived by Michael's wife, Ashley; Jennifer's husband, Dylan; his nephew, Oliver, and niece, Bobbi Jean; his maternal grandmother, Sarah Bruno; his longtime partner, Shannon, and her family; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who will forever carry his memory...
He is preceded in death by his mother, Michele Inez Hix; father, Robert Lee Hix; and grandfather, Michael Bruno.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at 7190 Oak St, Frisco, Texas 75033. All who loved Jake are invited to attend and share in remembering his life.
The family asks that you honor Jake's memory by doing something kind for someone else - just as he always did.
