

Jacque met her first husband Charles Balmos when he was an injured Marine returned from the Korean War and was at the VA Hospital. They fell in love, married and had five children over about eight years. They struggled through many hardships and remained friends until his death in 1984.
Jacque worked at Red McCombs Ford in San Antonio as a sales lady in the late 1970’s. Then she became property manager at Rolling Hills and Honey Hill Apartments in San Antonio for a little over 25 years until she retired. She reconnected with Richard at their 50th High School reunion. They married on February 14, 2006. Jacque loved crafting, reading and enjoyed her wine group at Westminster. Above everything else, she was faithful and loved her Lord.
Her parents Vernon Lee Swope and Mary Margaret Tracey preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, her husband Richerd Vander Stratton III. A sister, Patsy Lee Gilbert and nephew Charlie Johnson. Son Paul A. Balmos, grandsons Michael and Paul “Bubba” Balmos II. Daughters Patrice Balmos and Suzie Balmos Trial, granddaughter Amanda Odem and granddaughter Michelle Balmos.
She is survived by daughter Karen Balmos Thiemermann and husband Akim, grandsons Chuck and Michael Balmos and granddaughter Bonnie Uelk. Son Kurt A. Balmos and his sweetheart Annie Dozier, grandson Callan and wife Cassie Balmos. Granddaughter Caitlin and husband Michael Carpenter. Granddaughter Susannah Love and husband Jay Matush. Son-in-law Gary Trial, daughter-in-law Pat Balmos and granddaughter Lauren and husband Trey Reblado. Also survived by Richard’s adult children Lynn, Richard and David.
She is survived by 15 great grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. It was Jacque’s wish to be remembered in Life and Love.
