Jacqueline “Jackie” Jones Williamson, a beloved wife, loving mother and friend, and Momma Dear to her grandchildren passed away peacefully in her home on June 20, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. A woman of extraordinary wit, beauty, and grace, she lived life to the fullest whether it was cooking for her family, laughing with friends, supporting her loving husband or painting in her studio. She leaves behind a legacy as vibrant and complex as she was.
Jackie was born on August 14, 1938, in Mountain View, Arkansas. She graduated from Mountain View High School. After graduating from The University of Central Arkansas, she married the love of her life, Gary Wayne Williamson, on August 7, 1960, and the couple began what would be 53 years of life together.
Jackie and Gary were blessed with a great love and they shared this love with those around them and their three children: Kevin, Lezlie and Jennifer, and grandchildren Grayson, Helena, and Jacqueline Glade, Talley and Sam Lucchese, and granddaughter Channing and her husband Micah Wakeman and their children, Tobias, Camille, Emilio, Juliette and Micah.
Always ready with a good joke or witty one liner, Jackie added sparkle to any occasion. She loved spending time with her Stitch & Bitch crew, telling stories and laughing. Jackie nurtured these friendships and over time these women became her chosen sisters. When bird hunting season came around each year, she was right there hunting alongside Gary and the family. She loved joining him on annual trips to South Texas during quail season. Spending time in Whitefish, Montana, where she entertained family and friends, was a highlight each year. She cherished making memories there, especially during the holidays with her family in the Williamson Way – matching pajamas, good food and lots of cheer. Jackie and Gary raised their children with many family rituals, such as good food and friends at Matt’s El Rancho on Sundays…and of course margaritas.
Her talents were many: an amazing cook, a gardener, and an artist. Her still life paintings and those of farm animals hang in many of her friends’ homes.
She never missed a call for help, always showing up for those in need. Her compassion led her to support several organizations in Austin. She was an active leader and member of several organizations, including St. David’s Foundation, The Settlement Club, Helping Hand Home, CASA of Travis County, Hospice Austin, and The Symphony League of Austin. Jackie also was devoted to her church family at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
Jackie was a rare beauty with a bright smile that lit up a room. Sharp as a knife and just as precise, she lived life exactly on her terms: no shortcuts, no nonsense, and never out of step with her own unapologetic style. She was complex, funny and proud. She was absolutely one of a kind.
And though the world feels less bright without her in it, her girls carry her with them…in their fierce independence, and in the way they show up for the people they love.
She is survived by a legacy of compassion and charm and leaves behind not just her children, grandchildren, and extended family, but also a blueprint for living with courage, humor, and grace.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne Williamson; and her son, Kevin Wayne Williamson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lezlie Williamson Glade and Jennifer Williamson Lucchese; and her grandchildren, Ella Grayson Glade, Helena Louise Glade, Jacquline Joseph Glade, Talley Grace Lucchese, Sam Bernard Lucchese III, and Channing Williamson; and great grandchildren, Tobias Martinez, Camille Scott Martinez, Emilio Martinez, Juliette Marie Amor Wakeman, and Micah Louise Samuel Wakeman.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jackie’s dedicated caregivers Simone Mondragon, Anna Raquel Gonzales, Maria Shofestall, Mirtha Vargas, Alma Salazar and the compassionate staff of Hospice Austin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on July 2, 2026, at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to: The Settlement Home of Austin.
