
Funeral services for James Robert Becker, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Austin; The Reverend Michael K. Adams officiating. Jim passed away on March 4, 2006. Jim was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 11, 1949. Jim graduated from Lawton High School and New York University with a bachelors degree in Science. Jim retired from BMC Software in 1996. Jim was a man of great dignity and strength, who despite his physical limitations, chose to embrace life to the fullest. He taught us to greet each and every day with thanksgiving. Jims courage and grace in the face of the many obstacles he endured in his lifetime will continue to enrich and inspire those who were blessed to have known him. Though we grieve his death, we celebrate the extraordinary life that he lived. Jim is survived by his sister Lynda Becker, Austin, TX, dearly loved and treasured nieces Morgan Monét Pitcher, College Station, TX and Madison Renée Pitcher, Austin, cousins Chris, Bruce, and Stuart Cohen; Ken and Snyder King. He is also survived by Leona Harley and long time friend Robyn Hembree. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Col (Ret.) Frederick B. Becker and Vivian C. Becker, also preceded by aunts Annette Ferguson, Anna Riley, Pat Carson, Gladys King, Eloise Cohen, and Bea Lowell, one uncle, Brother Bittel.
